Why Precision Health Future?

An IBM-PwC report titled “Pharma 2020” published in the year 2004 (subsequently updated into this 2007 version) predicted that by the year 2020, most medicine will be personalised. We have gone past 2020, and we are nowhere close to achieving that level of progress in medicine. Nevertheless, thanks to the Cloud, cheap availability of massive storage and high-performance computing in the last few years, and a great culture of entrepreneurship in the life sciences, we are seeing an accelerated movement towards precision (and with it, personalisation) in medicine. Year 2020 has turned out not an endpoint, not even a milestone, but a new beginning for the global biopharmaceutical and healthcare industries.

This blog was started by Dinesh Agaram, a career data and change professional in the Life Sciences, to make sense of this frenetic growth of interest and investment in Precision Medicine, its advancements, its expressions in real life through Digital Health, and the potential it forebodes for public health at large. Please feel free to contact him at info@precisionhealthfuture.com to give or receive advice or suggestions for the blog, and for any potential opportunity to collaborate.
